Season 1

Bloom was an ordinary girl living on Earth, until she encountered a girl fighting an ogre. The girl, Stella, was the then-princess of the planet Solaria and a fairy. Stella believed that Bloom has magical powers within her, which is proven true during their second fight with the ogre, when Bloom uncontrollably unleashed a blast of light. Stella took Bloom with her to Magix, the magic realm, where they enrolled in Alfea, an all-girls school for fairies.

Bloom and Stella were joined by new friends: Flora, a shy girl who loves flowers and nature, having nature-related powers, Tecna an intelligent girl has a love for technology and technologically-based powers and Musa, a tomboyish girl who loves music, having musical powers. Eventually, Bloom discovers her powers and the Winx girls are confronted by the Trix, a trio of witches. The witches, Icy, Darcy, and Stormy, are students at Cloudtower, an all-female school for witches. Icy sought to find the Dragon's Flame, Magix's most powerful magic, coming from a deity in the series. On the other hand, the girls also became friends with four students from Redfountain, an all-boys school that trains them to become Specialists, fighters who can use a differing range of weapons along with other abilities. They are Sky, Brandon, Timmy, and Riven.

During episodes, the Trix unleashed constant traps to defeat the Winx girls and get the Dragon's Flame. The turning point came in Episode 17, when Bloom discovered that Brandon and Sky had switched identities in order to protect the other. Upset about those events, Bloom returns to Earth, with the Trix secretly following. There, Bloom discovers her true identity - she was the princess of the planet Domino and when it was destroyed by the Witch Coven, a group of three ancient witches, baby Bloom was sent to Earth and was adopted by her Earth parents. Alas, the Trix attacked Bloom on Earth and take the Dragon's Flame, leaving Bloom completely powerless. With the Flame in their possession, the Trix used it to summon the Army of Decay, an endless militia of monsters who regenerate even if they are defeated. At Alfea, students struggled to fight them, but to no avail. Figuring the only way to defeat the Trix is with a power equal to the Flame, the Winx Club will travel to Domino to claim any remnants of the Dragon's Flame.

On Domino, the Winx Club was immediately attacked by vicious monsters, but manages to hold up in the ruined palace that once belonged to Bloom's parents. Guided by the ethereal appearance of her sister Dafne, Bloom is told about final moments of her planet. After the destructive conquest by three ancient witches to seize the Dragon's Flame, Bloom's parents, Oritel and Miriam, endowed the infant Bloom with a small portion of it. She was handed off to her sister for safekeeping, while their parents used desperate measures to eliminate the witches. Oritel and Miriam seemingly sacrificed themselves by using the full power of the Dragon's Flame, rendering their planet inhospitable. Dafne supposedly used the last of her magical endowments to send Bloom to Earth. The bestiary of Domino eventually overran the palace forcing the Winx Club to retreat without any information on how to re-acquire the Flame.

The Winx Club proceeds with a secondary plan to take it from the Trix who have now conquered Cloudtower and turned it into their base of operations but their Army of Decay quickly overpower the Winx Club and their specialist support and are once again are forced to retreat. While falling back to campus of Alfea, Dafne guides Bloom to a nearby lake where she appears and explains to her that the Dragon Fire can never be taken from her and tethered to her self-esteem. By sheer will power, Bloom regenerates her Dragon Fire abilities.

The final battle begins at Alfea, and with the Dragon's Flame, Bloom squares off in a duel against Icy, while the others take on Darcy and Stormy. The Trix have a share of the Dragon Fire, so when Darcy and Stormy are defeated, most of the monsters disappear, leaving only Icy to be defeated by Bloom. After the battle, the Trix is sent to the Fortress of Light, a temple in the show, as punishment, while a celebration is held back at Alfea. The Winx girls and the Specialists toast to the new year.

Notable Subplots

  • Throughout the series, the Winx Club have joined the Specialists, warriors in training from Red Fountain School, in fights against the Trix and their Army of Decay. Their friendships quickly evolve into romantic interests in the following pairings: Bloom with Prince Sky (masquerading as Brandon -Prince Sky's squire- for the first half of the season), Stella with Brandon (masquerading as Prince Sky for the first half of the season), Tecna with Timmy, and Musa with Riven (though they don't have an official relationship until late season 2).
  • For the first half the series, Prince Sky and Squire Brandon switch identities and titles so that Sky could attend Red Fountain without having to deal with the expectations of a prince.
  • Bloom’s sister, Daphne, appears sporadically through out the series in ethereal form in Bloom's dreams and times of desperation. Her appearance culminated in the episode Sparks of Hope when she guides Bloom through the ruins of their parent’s palace while explaining the final moments of Sparks.
  • Pepe, a cygnet, debuts in the episode The Voice of Nature as the result of a spell cast by the Winx against the witches (summoning that which they hate the most -somehting cute and cuddly-) and follows Icy believing that she is his mother, much to her chagrin. Pepe appears infrequently throughout the first season eventually following Icy into the Fortress of Light, where he is never seen or heard of again.
  • Mirta, a student witch from Cloud Tower, aids Bloom during one escape from Cloud Tower and is turned into a pumpkin by Icy for her tolerance for fairies. As a pumpkin, she is cared for by Flora and even manages to give additional information about the senior witches. After the defeat of the Trix in the final episode, she returned to her former self and transfers to Alfea.
  • Princess Diaspro appears as the betrothed bride of Prince Sky in the episode Secrets Within Secrets (Royal Heartbreak in the 4Kids dub) but Bloom mistakes her appearance and interest in Sky for Icy in disguise. Bloom fights Diaspro to reveal Icy but instead humiliates herself and becomes upset with Sky because of his lack of honesty in his identity and their arranged marriage. In the third to the last episode in which the Army of Decay conquers Red Fountain, Princess Diaspro attempts to rescue Sky from the invading army but he refuses her aid in favor of fighting alongside his classmates and tacitly ends any relationship they had.

Season Two

The season begins with Bloom, Stella, Musa, Flora, and Tecna returning from their summer vacation to begin their second year at Alfea.

As Bloom reacquaints herself with her friends and the school, she wanders deep in the school halls and discovers a secret magical archive while in pursuit of a Fortune Fly (A flying seahorse-like Pixie Pet). The pixie watching over the archive tells Bloom that their meeting is fate and proceeds to foretell Bloom’s future.

The pixie says, in vague terms, that Bloom will meet a new friend, a new enemy, and have an adventure unlike any other before. The scene then cuts to reveal several new characters: Layla, a fairy, is working to rescue her friends: a group of pixies trapped by Lord Darkar. Despite her best efforts, she is only able to save one pixie, Piff. Layla then struggles out of the forest and makes it to the edge of Alfea, before fainting before the Winx Club girls.

After Layla begins recovering and wakes up, she explains why she was seen coming from forest and requests help to rescue the pixies, a request accepted by Ms. Faragonda, the Winx Club, and the Specialists.

Lord Darkar frees The Trix from prison in order to have them assist him in finding pieces of the Codex – a powerful source of magic guarded by the pixies. Layla joins the Winx Club, and the second attempt to rescue the remaining pixies succeeds. Throughout the rest of the season, the Winx Club work together with the pixies to help them and protect the Codex and the pixie village.

Items

  • The Codex is a magical object in Winx Club universe which grants the user the power to control the universe. At the beginning of the story, the Codex has long ago been broken into four pieces. Lord Darkar's goal is to find and reunite these pieces so that he can take control of the universe.
  • Charmix is a fictional object in Winx Club. These objects are obtained when a fairy does something that helps them get in touch with their true self. A Charmix accompanies a special transformation. It usually has a crystal of some sort on the upper outfit and a purse of some sort on the shorts/skirt. In the 4kids dub, the Charmix transformation sequence was shortened and thus wasn't very detailed. A Charmix, when called upon by a fairy, enhances the fairy's powers and also grants them new powers. The Charmix seems to have a limit when the user doesn't have any more Winx (as shown when the Winx girls weren't allowed to access their Winx during their stay in the Resort Realm). The Charmix disappears when the Winx within the Charmix has run out. It appears that when the fairy can use her Winx, the power within the Charmix gets even stronger, further enhancing the powers of the fairy. It is said that the Charmix and the Gloomix are equal in power. The Charmix were abandoned in season 3, having been displaced with Enchantix.
  • Gloomix A necklace or bracelet that was given to The Trix by Lord Darkar. This object is fuelled by very dark magic and the hate the owner feels towards someone or something. The Gloomix made the witches' powers stronger and gave them new powers. As stated by The Trix, the Gloomix appears to also have a limit to how many times it can be used in a day (such as when the witches gave their power to the monsters that were attacking the Winx Club). It was said by Stormy that using the Gloomix took a lot out of her and they all were weak. It is said that the Charmix and the Gloomix are both equal in power. Like the Charmix, Gloomix was abandoned after the season, since it was a gift from Darkar (an extension of his powers) and he himself was destroyed, and also it was replaced with Disenchantix.

Season 3

Synopsis

A new villain, Baltor (in the 4kids version, Valtor in the Italian version) has been introduced, as have Chimera, a bratty fairy from Beta Academy, and her mother, Countess Cassandra; who gets involved in Solaria's monarchy.

Stella's Princess Ball

Baltor has been leading a campaign against Planet Andros (The Realm of Tides in the 4kids version) with the intent of reconsolidating his power from all realms, leading Layla to return to her world and separate from the girls as they attend Stella's Princess Ball. At the Princess Ball, Chimera and her mother are revealed to be Stella's future step-family. They cast a spell on Stella, turning her into a hideous monster.

After escaping from Solaria and returning Stella to her natural state, the Winx Club regroup at Alfea where an anxious Layla hesitantly explains the situation of her home planet under attack. Everyone but Stella (who stays at Alfea as a diversion to school cadre and to monitor events on her home planet) proceeds to Tides and encounters Baltor. After a small skirmish with the possessed guardian mermaids, Baltor isolates Bloom and explains his motivations for his conquest.

 Layla's Blindness

When Layla interferes, Baltor quickly curses her by robbing her of her sight and escapes. Shortly afterwards, a mermaid princess finds the Winx Club and ask for their help in rescuing her friends and mother.

The rescue attempt is hampered by a kraken who pursues the five members and the princess but the girls succeed in rescuing the mermaid Queen. The Queen vows to repay Layla by restoring her sight and explains that they must return to the surface before sundown. As the group escapes, the kraken continues to attack them but this time injures the Queen. When they finally arrive to the surface, the mermaid princess asks Layla to use the Queens' scepter to heal herself but Layla ultimately chooses to heal the Queen instead. Layla's sacrifice is acknowledged and she becomes the first of the Winx Club to obtain her Enchantix, or complete fairy enchantment status.

The five members of the Winx Club reappear on the campus of Alfea where Ms. Faragonda instructs Layla on how to use her own Enchantix abilities to restore her sight but are quickly punished for skipping school.

Sky and Diaspro

During their punishment, Bloom confides in her friends about attending a royal party hosted by Sky's parents. Meanwhile, Baltor continues his objective to restore his power by stealing magical scrolls from Planet Espero and quickly proceeds to Planet Eraklyon where he meets Princess Diaspro, upset with the possibility of meeting Bloom in the upcoming party.

Before the royal party takes place, Sky confides to the Winx girls that he plans to announce a commitment to Bloom. However, at the party, attended by royalty of Magix, Princess Diaspro tricks Sky into drinking a magical potion provided by Baltor. This resulted in Sky announcing a commitment to Diaspro instead. The Winx girls and the other Specialists (Heroes) are shocked by this turn of events. They quickly determined that Sky has fallen under a spell. Stella, already upset with the attendance of her possible future stepmother and stepsister, confronts Sky. However, Sky counters with Diaspro's allegations that the Winx Club are witch agents sent by Baltor.

A pursuit of the Winx girls ensues, culminating with one of the pursuing dragons going on a rampage and nearly attacking King Radius, Stella's father. However, before it could occur, Stella places herself between her father and the dragon, which resulted in her taking damage. Rising to feet, after the dragon has been subdued, Stella's selflessness is acknowledged and she gains her Enchantix.

After the events on Eraklyon, the Winx girls return to Alfea, with Bloom upset at what occurred. Compounding their situation soon afterwards are a group of parents who demand that Bloom be expelled from school citing the claims of Diaspro and the attention from Baltor. While Ms. Faragonda is completely against such communication, Bloom concedes and returns to Gardenia, upset from the events on Eraklyon. However, her voluntary expulsion is short-lived. Stella shortly arrives with news that Prince Sky has announced plans to quickly marry Diaspro. Bloom returns to the realm of Magix and quickly devises a plan, with the help of the Specialists (Heroes), to approach Sky and determine that something is wrong with him.

After some diversionary tactics, the Winx Club (minus Tecna and Layla, who stay behind at Alfea) encounter Prince Sky, who launches himself into a fight with the Winx girls. The fighting continues until the Winx girls manage to subdue Sky, and notice Baltor's mark on his shoulder. Stella uses her Enchantix powers and fairy dust to try and break the spell. However, additional guards, led by Diaspro, arrive to defend Sky. This forces the Winx girls to retreat to Alfea before they can ensure that Stella's fairy dust was effective.

Possible Marriage for Layla

At Alfea, they are once again caught by Assistant Principal Ms. Griselda for their unauthorized excursion. Returning to their rooms, they encounter Layla, who is upset with the news that her parents have decided to enforce an arranged marriage for her, with a boy named Nabu that she has never met.

Baltor Attacks Cloud Tower

Baltor attacks Cloud Tower and casts a mind control spell over the witches. He locks up Professor Griffin and lead the mind controlled witches to attack Alfea. The fairies defeat the witches but Ms. Faragonda is turned into a tree after a mysterious battle with Baltor in the forest. Icy, Darcy, and Stormy teleport themselves into Alfea and try to find the ancient magical scrolls. The fairies defeat them but Darcy sets the library on fire. Musa saves Princess Galatea of her realm thus gaining her Enchantix. She uses her Enchantix to put out the fire and bringing back Galatea's wings which Icy destroyed.

Adventures in Linphea

In the next episode, The Tears From The Black Willow, the Winx Club travel to Linphea (The Fifth Moon of Marigold in the 4kids version), Flora's home planet. They meet Flora's sister, Miele (or Rose, in the English dub). However, they are attacked by Stormy, who had received new powers from Baltor. As always, good triumphs. Plus, they get advice from the mysterious lady to gather some tears from the black willow tree without touching it. Because of the danger of any more attacks, Rose was left behind but she comes back to assist the Winx Club.

Meanwhile, Icy, Darcy, and Stormy are fighting over Baltor but they soon realise that it is ridiculous and plan to ambush the Winx Club. Just as they were about to gather the tears, the trix appear and attack them. After they do that, Darcy ruined the healthy interior of the black willow tree. Enraged, Flora attacks but The Trix overpower her and she was about to be destroyed when Rose saved her from the blast and fell into the water. Flora quickly plunged into the water to save her sister, thus gaining her Enchantix. When the Winx Club come back, they are able to turn Ms. Faragonda back to her old self.

Invasion of Tides

On the Planet Tides, Baltor’s invasion has reached a critical phase when Baltor manipulates the gate to the Omega dimension into using its negative energy to cancel the positive of the Realm of Tides and destroying the existence of both areas. The vortex between both worlds also becomes a portal allowing other prisoners from the Omega dimension to be released into Layla’s home world.

All members of the Winx Club go the realm of Tides to stop both energies from negating each other but the vortex created overcomes their initial attempt and would now requires that the whirlpool be sealed from within. Layla and Bloom quickly volunteer but are repelled by its unstable magic. Tecna manages to overpower the magical resistance and in doing so gains her Enchantix, endowing her with powers strong enough to seal the vortex and herself in the Omega dimension.

Back to Alfea, the girls blurt out to the Red Fountain boys about Tecna's sacrifice. Timmy, disappointed and sad, quickly moves to another bench out of hearing range and is confronted by Riven later on. The Winx Club decides to go back to Cloud Tower to get pay back for Tecna without considering Ms. Faragonda's disapproval of their plan. While Baltor shares the story of the destruction of her parents with Bloom, Stella and Layla manage to boost Professor Griffin out of her prison cell.

Bloom's Quest on Pyros

Shortly after Baltor cast an oppositus spell on Bloom, who as a result was trapped in a cage of ice as the spell turned her fire attack into ice, Ms. Faragonda, Professor Griffin, Professor Saladin, Layla, and Stella rejoins them. The Winx Club turn Bloom back to her normal self but gains nothing out of the revenge attempt except Professor Griffin. Later on, Bloom, outraged with the story of her parents, asks Ms. Faragonda where she can get more power. Ms. Faragonda sends her to Pyros, the Island of Dragons, notifying her that there was a high risk of danger there.

On Pyros, Bloom gets attacked by several dragons and falls into a steep ravine. She falls into deep slumber and gets a hint from Daphne, in her sleep, to find her dragon. Soon after she wakes up, Bloom finds a small dragon, Buddy who helps her to move, act, and eat like a dragon. After helping her, Buddy guides Bloom to the mountain of the dragons which is a group of several volcanoes.

Trying not to wake the sleeping dragon blocking their path, Bloom and Buddy tiptoe across the great bulk of the dragon and eventually wake up the creature. Bloom, afraid that something bad might happen to Buddy, gets in touch with her inner self and uses her dragonfire, in the shape of a dragon, to scare off the other dragon. Meanwhile, Timmy dedicates all his time trying to find the location of Tecna in the Omega Dimension. Finding no signal of Tecna whatsoever, he falls asleep.

As Bloom continues her exploration of Pyros, she begins to feel frustrated that she cannot leave. An earthquake derails her train of thoughts. When she was about to fall into the deep crevices, Maia, a sorceress living on Pyros, saves Bloom. Maia offers more guidance and training that culminates with Bloom gaining her Enchantix by finding her deepest source of power.

As the events on Pyros take place, the remaining members of the Winx Club and select members of Specialist (Heroes), specifically, Timmy, Brandon, and Helia arrive at an approximate location in the Omega Dimension. The group locates the transmitter used by Tecna but is ambushed and captured by prisoners before they find her.

When Bloom returns to Alfea, she finds none of her friends there. Eventually, she stumbles into Ms. Faragonda and Ms. Griselda who congratulate her for earning her Enchantix without saving someone from her planet. After learning that her friends were in the Omega Dimension, Bloom comes across Sky. They forgive each other and decide to go to the Omega Dimension to look for their friends.

Soon after they arrive there, they find Tecna. Unable to believe her eyes, Bloom runs to meet her but they faced another problem: getting their friends back to Alfea. Quickly, Sky, Bloom, and Tecna bust Timmy, Helia, and Brandon out of their cell. The boys agree to form a distraction while the two girls rescue the other members of the Winx Club.

When Bloom and Tecna find their friends deep in the ravine, they faced another challenge: to defeat the snake. After failed attempts to beat the serpent, Bloom transformed into her Enchantix and used her powers to beat the snake. However, Bloom, instantly connected to the snake after her attack, knew that it wasn't over yet. While her friends flew up, she led the serpent to where the escaped criminals were fighting the Red Fountain boys. While the snake scared off the criminals, the Red Fountain boys and the Winx Club flew back home. After arriving at Alfea, the girls have a slumber party for their success and for being reunited again.

New elements

  • Enchantix is the third and second most powerful form for all fairies. Believix, the upcoming form in season 4 is the most powerful so far. To attain it, they must make a sacrifice to save one person from their home planet, or make a grave sacrifice to save many lives. However, Bloom is an exeption. She doesn't have anyone left on her home planet, Domino/Sparks, so she obtains it by focusing all her willpower on one thought in one perfect momment. When the girls get their Enchantix, they gain ample wings that are entirely different from their original wings complete with fairy dust and new, beautiful, and unique outfits. Fairy dust has healing power, the power to break curses. They also have the ability to shrink themselves into the size of pixies. While in Enchantix, their Winx is multiplied dramatically to the extent that their powers reach levels high enough to achieve amazing feats. For example, Tecna closed the Omega Dimension portal on attainment of her Enchantix, without which this feat would require amazing power, strength and talent on her part. Layla's powers, too, were increased - by virtue of her having obtained her Enchantix form - to such a high level that she was able to create a barrier out of Morfix; this barrier was effective enough to stop bullets fired by guards attending Prince Sky (under Diasporo's spell at this point) at the royal party in Eraklyon, & shoot them back 10 times stronger.
  • Water Stars are six star-shaped objects that contain a force that is the exact opposite of the Dragon Fire. Because of this reason, the Water Stars are the only things in the universe that can defeat the Dragon Fire. They were created at the beginning of the magical universe along with the Dragon Fire. Eventually, they were sealed of into the dimension of the Golden Kingdom, so that they wouldn't clash with the Dragon's Flame. In the present, the winx went to the Golden Kingdom to claim the water stars so that they could defeat Valtor (his power comes from the Dragon Fire). They later proved to be instrumental tools in the fight against Valtor/Baltor, but also extremely dangerous to Bloom, as her powers are drawn from the Dragon Fire as well.

Season 4

This article is about the fourth season of the Italian animated series Winx Club.

After the Winx graduate from Alfea they are asked to help teach a few things to the new fairy to Alfea. During the time the Winx learn that Bloom is not the last fairy of Earth and that there's still one left, whom the Wizards of the Black Circle(The Fairy Hunters) are seeking. They also learn that there is a transformation after the Enchantix. For their new mission the Winx go to Earth to find the last fairy and to make humans believe in magic so that they can earn their Believix. The Believix is the new transformation in season 4, where their wings are more powerful, and are more useful. They have three additional wings as well, Speedix (speed enhancement), Zoomix (teleportation) and Tracix (visual aids). When a fairy earns their Believix, they gain the ability to make someone believe in magic. It didn't work in the beginning, but it did make people overcome their weaknesses. While on Earth the Winx encounter Wizards of the Black Circle. They stole the magic from Earth, making earthlings disrespect it. The Wizards need the last fairy on Earth, Roxy, to gain full power. But, from sometime in the season onwards, their target switches to the White Circle, a magical ring in which the fairies from earth were trapped in. The circle can also be used to fight against the wizards while the Believix can only affect them if people believe in fairies.

Transformations

Believix

Believix is the fourth transformation of the Winx. The believix has no effect unless people believe in fairies. This transformation includes 3 additional wings: Speedix, Zoomix & Tracix. Bloom, Stella, Musa, Tecna, Layla, Flora, and Roxy all have it.

Speedix

The Speedix wings are used to enhance a fairy's speed. In other words, the Speedix make them go faster.

Zoomix

The Zoomix wings allow a fairy to teleport to any location she wishes.

Tracix

With the Tracix wings, a fairy can see the past & present. It's unknown if the Tracix wings allow a fairy to see the future.

Others...

Roccaluce (The Fortress of Light)

Known as Light Haven in the 4KIDS TV edition, it is shown to be located above the Lake Fortress of Light in non-space. The fortress is unreachable for almost anyone except for advanced magicians who can travel through dimensions. It is a temple high above the clouds on a huge and rocky mountain. After season one, the witches are sent there for unleashing the Army of the Dark on Magix. [2]

Queen Algae is the Queen of the aquatic fairies.

Lusiz is one of the aquatic fairies.

Shadowhaunt

Lord Darkar is the ruler of Shadowhaunt. He is an ancient being from the beginning when all things were created. Darkar is dramatically opposite to the dragon, but like the dragon he is very powerful. The dragon is the source energy and light, while Lord Darkar absorbs it, making his essence the opposite of the Dragon's Flame and is thus, the source of negative energy. He was once a man venturing into Shadowhaunt, seeking the shadow fire. Instead of controlling it however, the shadow fire took control of him. He kidnapped the pixies, rescued the trix from their prison and used the Codex and Bloom's Dragon Fire to open a portal to the Realm of the Relix. Darkar nearly succeeded in his plot to claim the ultimate power and rule the magical dimension, but in the end Darkar was defeated by all six Winx members, who banished him to the dark realm from which he was spawned.

Dark Bloom is Bloom after being turned evil by Darkar's shadow magic . Her personality is similar to the trix witches, but more cruel than they are. In her first appearance, she destroyed half of Alfea's secret library, defeated the rest of the winx club, and sent a piece of the codex to Lord Darkar. Her last appearance was in the second season finale. She entered the realm of Realix to claim the ultimate power, initially with the intention of handing it to Lord Darkar, but after Sky professed his love for her, the small drop of goodness in her was strong enough to regain control of herself, and used her healing powers to cure herself of the dark spell. She then returned the ultimate power, and helped the other fairies defeat Darkar

Hell's Mastiff, Spit Monster and Brute Monster are monster servants of Lord Darkar. (names weren't mentioned)

Keborg (Kerbog in the 4kids edition) is a bat-like creature that serves Lord Darkar as a spy.

Downland

King Enervus is the King of Downland (original version only).

Queen Quoeda is the Queen of Downland (original version only).

Princess Amentia is the Princess of Downland who tries to marry Brandon in the second season. She is shown as ruthless when she wants something. She is, however, an excellent warrior who will fight to the finish. In the 4kids version, she is Queen of Downland, rather than just Princess, likely because she is so dominating that her parents do not mind that she runs the kingdom.

Sponsus is Princess Amentia's loyal servant, who is deeply in love with her. He attempts to win her heart by bestowing gifts on her, but to no avail. Thanks to Amore, Princess Amentia finally falls in love with him and agrees to break her 'engagement' with Brandon.

Pixies' Village

Pixies' Village is a village in the Dark Forest where the pixies live in the series. In the second season, Lord Darkar wants to locate the village to steal the Codex to get to Relix. Later, he turns Bloom evil so he can use her powers (related through the Dragon's Flame) to activate it. [3]

Pixies

There are pixies (called "minifairies" in the Italian version) who bond with fairies as well as four guardian pixies that protect the Codex at the four main places in Magix: Alfea, Redfountain, Cloudtower and Pixies' Village. The witches use the term "pixies" as an insult to the fairies in the first season of the 4Kids dub, and Faragonda noted that pixies also trained at Alfea. Since then the term has had no other meaning in the series. There is rumored to be a spinoff series based on the pixies entitled "PopPixie" in the works.

Pixies bonded to the Winx Club

Amore is the Pixie of Love ('Amore' is Italian for 'love'). Her sensitive nature is mirrored in her appearance by her rosy-red hair, flowing pink dress and floral decorations. She is Stella's bonded pixie. Kerry Williams voices Amore in the 4Kids version and Ilaria Latini in the Original version

Chatta is the Pixie of Chatter who looks somewhat like Stella with her long, blond hair in two ponytails and a green outfit. She is extremely talkative and enjoys writing cheers and talking about just about everything, especially herself. As Flora's bonded pixie, Flora is very dependent on Chatta, due to Flora's extremely introverted, quiet nature. Chatta encourages Flora to find the strength to speak her mind, often showing the most positive of outcomes. Rebecca Handler voices Chatta in the 4Kids version and Perla Liberatori in the Original version.

Digit is the Pixie of Nanotechnology, who lives up to her name. She is extremely immaculate, logical, precise, mathematical and shows little emotion. She wears a blue, futuristic jumpsuit. She is an obvious match for Tecna and the two of them have an extremely close relationship. They are perfect for challenging each others minds (and video game skills), discussing similar interests and speaking in their technical manner. Lisa Ortiz voices Digit in the 4Kids version and Gemma Donati in the Original version.

Lockette is the Pixie of Portals, thus knowing her way anywhere. She has a hairclip that transforms into a scepter which helps her point people in the right direction. Lockette is Bloom's bonded pixie, as Bloom often finds herself lost and is constantly on a journey to discover the secrets of her past throughout the series (or 'has many hidden passages in her heart'). Lockette not only helps Bloom find her way physically, but also emotionally, as Bloom tries to discover her true self and connect with her power and family. Lockette reassembles Chip from Sonic Unleashed. Andy Whaley voices Lockette in the 4Kids version and Laura Lenghi in the Original version.

Piff is the baby Pixie of Sweet Dreams, who wears a pink dress and bonnet with lace, making her look like a baby. She is bonded to Layla/Aisha and often help her with her troubling nightmares. Domitilla D'Amico voices Piff in the original version and unknown in the kids version.

Tune, the Pixie of Etiquette and Good Manners, is polite, even when she is yelling at others. Tune is neat, orderly, prim and proper and old-fashioned, with pale purple hair and a Victorian-style outfit in purple, white and blue. Tune believes in being lady-like, a contrast to her bonded fairy, Musa, who is famous for her outgoing behavior. In spite of Tune's nagging and correcting, Tune and Musa make the perfect pair, each lessening each others' extremes. Michal Friedman voices Tune in the 4Kids version and Letizia Ciampa the Original version.

 Others

Athena is the guardian of Red Fountain's Codex.

Charmy is Lockette's cousin. She disappears in Shadowhaunt.

Concorda is the guardian of Alfea's Codex. She is bonded to the magic archive of Alfea, where the Codex is hidden within the shelves of books.

Discorda is the guardian of Cloud Tower's Codex and hides in the heart of Cloud Tower. She is haughty and loves fashion.

Glim is the Pixie of Fireflies and, like Piff, is still a baby. Domitilla D'Amico voices Glim in the Original version and unknown in the 4Kids version

Jolly, the Pixie of Fortune-Telling, appears in the episodes 'Hallowinx' (The Fourth Witch in the 4kids version) and 'The Time for truth' (Darkness and Light in the 4kids version) and wears a joker-type outfit. She uses a version of tarot cards to tell the future and is Livy's older sister. She also appears in the movie. It is believed that Jolly will become Roxy's bonded pixie, but this has not yet been proved.

Livy is the Pixie of Messages and surfs on folded messages. She has a habit of being forgetful, but what she lacks in memory, she makes up in heart. Livy isn't bonded to anyone. In the second season, though, Livy accidentally reveals the location of the Pixies' Village to Darkar. Natasha Malinsky voices Livy in the 4Kids version and Domitilla D'Amico in the Original version.

Ninfea is the guardian of Pixie Village's Codex. She guards and protects Pixie Village in the Dark Forest.

Before season one, they paired their son up with Princess Diaspro as his fiancée, but Sky manages to get out of the engagement to be together with Bloom. They don't like her very much until season two, episode 14, in which she helps to save Diaspro. In their first appearance in the Rai Version, King Erendor is described as an alumnus of Red Fountain and Queen Samera as an ex-supermodel.[citation needed]

Queen Mariam and King Oritel are the Queen and King of Domino[4] and the parents of Daphne and Bloom. They first appear in season two episode nine in Bloom's dream. Queen Mariam has red hair like Bloom and King Oritel has brown hair. They are apparently very powerful and a formidable threat to Baltor's rule. They are friends with Faragonda, Griffin and Saladin, who tried to help them fighting off Baltor from Sparks before the point in the timeline where the series began.[citation needed] In episode 24 of season three, Bloom goes to Cloud Tower in search of the Three Ancestral Witches (also known as the Ancestresses, whose essence remains in the Crypt of Cloud Tower). They reveal to her that Baltor lied to her. Her parents are not trapped within him, as he pretends they are, but that her parents are still alive in a place beyond magical dimension's reach. It is revealed in the movie that King Oritel and Queen Mariam are trapped in a dark realm called the Circle of Obsidian with the Three Ancient Witches themselves and an evil sorceress named Mandragora. After Bloom destroys Mandragora and the Obsidian dimension, Domino is revived, King Oritel and Queen Mariam are freed, and happily reunited with their now grown up daughter.

Cassandra and Stella's father, King Radius, are engaged to be married for reasons unknown. Cassandra puts a spell on Radius that forces him to do everything she tells him to, even banishing his own daughter. Chimera uses her powers to turn Stella into a hideous monster. Later in the season, Chimera takes Stella's place as Princess of Solaria. In episode 19 of season three, however, Stella defeats them. They are imprisoned and Stella becomes Princess again.

Princess Diaspro was the arranged fiancé of Prince Sky, but he breaks their engagement for Bloom. Bloom, believing Diaspro was one of the Trix (4K dub: more specifically, Icy) in disguise, attacks her during the Exhibition Day at Red Fountain. She also has a magical girl transformation in her season one episode, similar to the main Winx Club girl's. Diaspro is the Fairy of Gemstones. In the 4Kids version, her homeworld is given as Isis, her family lets her do a large amount of ruling and they are very close with the ruling family of Eraklyon, as her parents and King Erendor and Queen Samera holiday on the same island.[citation needed] In season two, ninja warriors called the Techno Ninjas (The Wrong Righters in the 4kids dub) kidnap her, forcing Sky, Bloom, Brandon and Flora to rescue her. Also in that episode they mention that she rules over the planet called Isis and that she has been trained and taught for many years to become Sky's wife. Therefore, she is quite bitter about the fact that Bloom has taken her place. Flora and Chatta console her, telling her that she will find her prince someday. Daphne is the eldest child of Oritel and Mariam of Sparks[4] and Bloom's older sister. Daphne was first introduced in the season one episode "Mission to Cloud Tower". Initially, she is a mysterious voice heard only by Bloom, but her identity is revealed in snatches as Bloom's back story is filled in throughout the season. Her main role is to help Bloom realize her magical potential, specifically how to recover the Dragon's Flame after losing it to the witches. During season one it is revealed that Daphne is the one who saved Bloom from the destruction of Sparks [4] by sending her to Earth. After her death, Daphne's spirit becomes a nymph bound to a lake in Magix, and she is only able to leave for short periods of time. She is mostly seen during dream sequences. In the middle of the third season she gives Bloom advice on how to become more powerful while training on Pyros. In the Winx Club movie, Daphne makes several cameo appearances and comes to Bloom's aid during the final battle with the Three Ancient Witches.

The Fairy Hunters (Cacciatori Di Fate in the original version, better known as Wizards of the Black Ring or Wizards of the Black Circle) are the four main villains—Ogron, Gantlos, Duman, and Anagan—in the fourth season. At some point, they had developed a way to resist fairy magic, which allowed them to captured the fairies of Earth, and steal all of the magic from the planet. Throughout the first half of the season, they battle the Winx, and almost every time the fairies barely make it out alive. However, as time went on the Winx became more accustomed to fighting them, and eventually were able to give them a real fight. They are defeated in the middle of the season by Bloom who, with help from Roxy, used her Believix powers to convince all of the Humans in the area to believe that she is a Fairy. This rendered the Wizard's abilities useless, and made them vulnerable to Bloom's attack. It is currently unknown if they are gone for good, or will return for the second half of the season. Patrizio Prata as Ogron, Christian Iansante as Gantlos, Davide Lepore as Duman and Andrea Lavagnino as Anagan play The Fairy Hunters in the original version and unknown in the 4Kids version.

Knut is a near-sighted ogre who works for the Trix. Despite being fairly intelligent, Knut is constantly messing things up. This does not endear him to the Trix particularly well and they berate him often. He switches sides to fight alongside the Specialists and fairies at the end of season one. In season two, he works at Alfea. He appears only in one episode in the third season. Marc Thompson voices Knut in the English version.

Mandragora is an evil sorceress and the main antagonist of Winx Club movie serving under the Three Ancient Witches. She is the leader of the Obsidian Dimension, the demonic world of destruction trying to rule the whole magic universe with the circle of Obsidian. Oritel and Miriam are trapped inside her world. She is defeated by Bloom, with help from Daphne and Sky, and destroys the Obsidian Dimension. After that Oritel and Miriam are free and the Kingdom of Domino is recreated.

She throws a party in season two, episode 14, and invites Bloom only to prank her. She does, but the pixies get her back with her own prank. Lisa Ortiz voices Mitzi in the 4kids version, Victoria Justice in the live action/ animated direct-to-video version and Monica Vulcano in the Original version. Some fans believe that Mitzi will be revealed as a witch in the fourth season. She has a crush on Brandon in the fourth season.

Three Ancient Witches are the villains who follow immediately after The wizards of the Black Circle and Animal hunter Maybe in the Second Half of the Fourth Season destroy Bloom's home planet Domino (Sparks/Sparx) and kill Bloom's birth parents because of the Circle of Obsidian Dimension. They are also the ones who created Baltor. Their essence still remains in the crypt of Cloud Tower.

Valtor (Baltor in the 4kids version) is another main villain. He is a powerful wizard whose goal is to be the greatest wizard of all. Thus, he turns people into monsters that willingly serve him and places a mark that looks like a "V" on other people so they too will serve him. By doing so he hopes to be able to conquer each planet or realm. He was created from the Dragon's Flame by the Three Ancient Witches. He was with them when they destroy Sparks[4], but was sent to the Omega Dimension as punishment. Seventeen years later, the Trix are sent there as well, where they freed him from his prison. They escape and he begins conquering Andros, Layla's home planet. Baltor then moves on to Solaria where he restores his lost powers with the planet's second sun. In their youth, he and Ms. Griffin were magical companions. At that time he meets Bloom's parents Queen Miriam and King Oritel of Sparks[4], who are both stronger than him. However, he tricks them and supposedly kills them the day Sparks is destroyed. He is shown to make those who defeat him miserable. He hunts down Faragonda, Griffin and Saladin, imprisoning them. In the second-to-last episode of season three, Baltor transforms into a demon and unleashes a spell known as the Spell of the Elements sending elemental attacks in four directions: water (flooding) to Cloud Tower, wind (tornadoes) to Redfountain, fire (forever-burning, unable to be put out) to Alfea and earth (earthquakes) to Magix. However, the Winx Club manages to release all the spells that Baltor had stolen. In the final episode, Valtor is defeated by Bloom in his demon form from the inside out and banished to the Realm of Oblivion along with the Three Ancient Witches.Sean Schemmel voices Baltor in the 4Kids version and Guido Di Naccio in the Original version. There is the Possibility That he Might Return in the Last half of The Fourth Season.

The Water Nymphs live in the Black-Mud Swamp where a very rare plant can be found, until Flora takes a sample of it. The Water Nymphs are called "The Junior League of the Swamp" in the 4kids version and have a much-higher profile (in the original, no one has seen them before). Some of the nymphs warn Alfea of the invasion of the Army of Darkness led by the Trix.
